Julian Schnabel Parley for the Oceans Tote
Cleaning our oceans and shorelines of plastic waste is the mission of Parley for the Oceans, a company that believes the power of change lies in the hands of the consumer. This tote bag is made from intercepted plastic waste which is converted into Parley’s signature premium material, Ocean Plastic®. This reusable tote is made for everyday use, from grocery shopping to travel to daily commutes. The bag is 15” tall with a 9.5" handle drop, and includes an attached pouch which the tote bag can be folded into—so you can keep it with you whenever you need an extra bag.
Julian Schnabel, an artist in MoMA’s collection, created work specifically for this Parley for the Oceans Tote. The artwork is part of Schnabel’s seminal Surf/Paintings series. “The ocean, the sea and the waves have had a big influence on my life,” says Schnabel. “It is so important that people finally comprehend that there is something bigger than them. The ocean teaches us to be humble, to respect it, and to accept that we are all part of something greater.” Schnabel also designed Parley for the Oceans logo, which appears on the tote bag.
