Description
Designed in 1948 by Charles and Ray Eames, whose work is represented in the Museum's collection, and first presented at MoMA in the International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture, the molded plastic chair was the first plastic chair to be mass-produced. The current models are exact reproductions of the original designs, with clean, simple forms sculpted to fit the body. They are made with recycled and recyclable materials. Made by Herman Miller.
