MoMA Exclusive: This graphic, colorful Round21 Basketball is the result of a collaboration between artist Marco Oggian and Round21, a company founded by first-generation Indian-American Jasmine Maietta. A former pro-basketball player and coach in Spain, Maietta launched Round21 in 2019. This sports lifestyle brand partners with a diverse group of creatives to reimagine sports gear, such as this basketball. The Round21 Basketball has a polyurethane composite cover, a nylon/polyester thread winding and a rubber core. It’s a standard size 7 ball with a circumference that measures 29.5”.
